Michael Lewis, an American author, and best known for his recent book “Moneyball” has a net worth of $7.5 Million. Originally from New Orleans, he attended Princeton University, where he received a degree in art history. He later moved to New York, unsuccessfully trying to find a job in Finance. Perhaps having a degree in Art History didn’t raise too many eyebrows in the New York financial community… He later went to London School of Economics, receiving a degree in 1985. michael-lewis-net-worth

He then was able to get a job for the Salomon Brothers, receiving a starting salary of $48,000 (about $90,000 in today’s money). He eventually quit to write, “Liar’s Poker” and because of it’s success, decided to leave to become a financial journalist. He has written many books, including, The New New Thing, and most recently, “Moneyball”, which his now a movie starring Brad Pitt. He is able to command large initial payments from his editor now, as he is a best seller and reaching the top of what writers seem to strive for; having a movie made on one of their books.
